Allergic to bananas- Some people reach day 4 without much ado, but as soon as they reach day 4 of the diet plan, they find it difficult to eat just banana and milk. Bananas are very nutritious. They are full of fiber, potassium, and sodium, but if you want to skip bananas you can also have papayas. Apricots, figs, nectarines and dates can be a feeble substitute for bananas, but remember what we said about dry fruits, so stick to just eight a day.
For example, between breakfast and lunch, I could have a protein shake, or I could skip it and stay hungry waiting for lunch, and add more protein to my pre-workout shake. Either way I will end up consuming the same amount of protein and cals, but as for the timing, does it matter (per the insulin chart) if I avoid food those ‘in-between’ periods? thanks!!
“Peas have higher protein and iron levels than most vegetables, so they can be a good source of nutrients—and an alternative to non-animal foods which tend to be higher in saturated fat,” explains Vicario.

Did you know that bread and rolls are the No. 1 source of salt in the American diet, accounting for more than twice as much sodium as salty junk food like potato chips? That’s why it’s so important to look for low-sodium varieties of bread (a good brand is Food for Life).
Andrei, what you want to do then, is to increase your activity level to raise your TDEE so that the 20% cut will be higher than BMR. I do not recommend dropping below BMR, because it comes with a big list of negative effects.
There is a better way: Swap the all-or-nothing approach for one or two healthy switch-ups in your daily routine. “Doing this can lead to more weight loss than you ever imagined,” says Marissa Lippert, RD, author of The Cheater’s Diet.
While they may not be the most appetizing item on the list, if you can stomach them, pop open a can of sardines this summer! Sardines are full of fat-fighting compounds that help stabilize blood sugar. They’re rich sources of CO enzyme Q10, vitamin B12, selenium, omega-3 oils, calcium, phosphorus, and vitamin D. Plus, sardines are satiating and packed with protein, says Richter.
Thanks for the response! Also, thanks for the link; I checked it out and have it bookmarked. After I posted I kept digging and the middle of this article https://www.muscleforlife.com/healthy-meal-planning-tips/ really drove home the points you guys are making. My fat was around 30-40% of my daily cals (protein 50%, carbs 10-20%). I’m with the logic now; thanks for the insight.

The Meal Plan sounds great, but I don’t think I can eat two cups of soup at one sitting. Some of the other portions seem to be too much for me. I’ve been found to be B-12 deficient and even though I’m taking injections to correct this, I’m still tired most of the time. I hope this meal plan will help.
I have subscribed to 2 or 3 big-name services providing macro setup and coaching, and I am confused because the sets of numbers I’ve gotten are so different! One plan seems to be pretty low-carb overall, advocating only 140g for days I crossfit and 210g for longer lifting sessions. The plan I’ve been with for the past couple months has me maintaining on 160p, 90f, 220c, (120c for rest days), and I desperately want to cut to feel less fluffy during my workouts. The numbers from your calculator are so low on fat, is that safe long-term for women?

When you cut back calories, your body fights back in a number of ways, he says. First and foremost, you get hungry. “Hunger is very powerful and very primal,” he says (as anyone who’s ever felt “hangry” knows). “You can ignore it for a few days or weeks or months, or trick it by drinking lots of water or going for a walk, but it’s very hard to ignore it permanently.”

Of course, when breaking down the numbers, truth of the matter is, if you’re not motivated, you’re at a loss. A pound of fat contains approximately 3,500 calories. If you want to lose 10 pounds, that is 35,000 calories to lose from your body in just two weeks.

But you don’t have to do it alone. Talk to your doctor, family and friends for support. Ask yourself if now is a good time and if you’re ready to make some necessary changes. Also, plan smart: Anticipate how you’ll handle situations that challenge your resolve and the inevitable minor setbacks.
